"Enjoying design with all five senses" is our concept. As a "chance to encounter novel design",
which presents excellent design from Japan and the world,
we provide opportunities for plenty of people to make new discoveries
and encounters that enrich their daily lives.

Feel the crisp autumn breeze while playing in the Grass Square. A wooden"Midtown Dungeon"designed like a town will be set up on the lawn. Take part in the adventurous"quest"by going through four different experience zones. The quest is completed by climbing the tower from where you can enjoy the view.

Let your creativity flourish and make something all your own. Various creators will hold workshops on the weekends for both children and adults. There will be also a special workshop for making things using products that have won the Tokyo Midtown Award. Reservations are not required.

The DESIGN SHOPPER COLLECTION was very popular with visitors last year and the project will be held again this year. Collaborating with 18 shops, artists have created hip and original shopping bags. Various events will also be held in the shops.

Fee For the project’s duration a bag will be given to customers who have made over a 2000 yen(tax included) purchase at a store. The bags will be distributed to customers on a first comefirst served basis.*The project will end as soon as stock has run out.

“Roppongi Future Talks”is a design and art web magazine carrying timely information on Roppongi’s art museums and galleries. It also notably features interviews with a wide range of artists and creators. Some of the ideas proposed by the interviewees have led to real-life projects and events such as walking tours in Roppongi.

Tokyo Midtown aims to create and gather new Japanese values, sensibilities and talents and present them to the world. The Tokyo Midtown Award, a competition to discover and support creators of the next generation, marks its 6th year this year. An award ceremony will be held; award-winning works chosen from the total of 1, 626 entries in the design and art competition will be shown. Award-winning works from the design competition which have become popular commercial products will also be displayed.

*From Oct. 18 to Nov. 4, a vote among visitors will be held to select the most popular work for the “Audience Award”.

The “Milano Salone” held in Milan is the world’s largest furniture trade fair. In recent years, Japanese designs are increasingly gaining attention in Italy. The works by the Japanese design office“nendo”were the talk of the fair this year. The group’s display will be reconstructed in Tokyo Midtown.

An outdoor exhibition of unique stone and pottery works created in a collaboration between traditional Japanese artisans and contemporary creators. Visitors are free to touch the works and even sit on the larger-sized works. Come and encounter unexpected designs while listening to the pleasant sound of the stream along the pathway. A vote for popular works will be held on the weekends.
