March 20th (Friday) - April 5th (Sunday)
Tokyo Midtown is holding a spring festival called Midtown Blossom 2009 from Friday, March 20 to Sunday, April 5.
The concept of Midtown Blossom 2009 is the celebration of spring. A series of events will be held, helping you enjoy a spring season under nearly 110 cherry trees.
■ Sakura Café
Tokyo Midtown invites you to its Sakura x Kimono themed cherry-blossom viewing this year. An open-air café, Sakura Café, will open in the Midtown Garden where approximately 110 cherry trees blossom. The cafeteria is equipped with easy-to-sit-in high chairs and standing counters so that those dressed in kimonos can comfortably enjoy viewing the cherry blossoms.
■ SAKURA STORY
The magnificence of cherry blossoms under the spring sunshine. The fantastic sight of cherry blossoms emerging in the evening. Gwenael Nicolas, a spirited designer, will express the beauty of cherry blossoms by illuminating the cherry trees at night from two aspects. It will not simply be a lighting-up of the trees, but will express the processes of the falling and accumulation of petals like a carpet.
