Introducing the Ginren Card

MORE INFORMATION

September 1(Mon), 2008

Starting September 1st (Monday), Tokyo Midtown began accepting the Ginren Card.

The Ginren Payment Service uses a cash card issued by a Chinese bank and authorized with the Ginren Brand (the card is known as the Ginren Card). This card can be used in Japan at affiliated stores that accept the Ginren Card. Approximately 1.6 billion Ginren Cards have already been issued in China. Almost all Chinese visitors to Japan possess a Ginren Card.
The number of Chinese visitors to Japan is rising with each year. In March of this year, it became easier for Chinese citizens to obtain a travel visa when traveling with a small number of family members. As a result, the number of visitors to Japan is set to increase still further.
The introduction of the Ginren Payment Service is designed to create more convenience for the ever-increasing number of Chinese tourists and to encourage use of the card.
