The first self guided tour in Japan using Ubiquitous-technology-mounted terminal
Tokyo Midtown is adorned with 20 artworks transcending nationalities and genres. Tokyo Midtown, its building harmonizing with the garden, is also a place for creating new culture. Here, you can enjoy a self-guided art tour at your own pace navigated by the “Ubiquitous Communicator”, an information terminal with cutting-edge technology.
An art tour navigated by a ubiquitous system debuts in Japan. The “Ubiquitous Communicators” guide guests the way to respective art works and, in front of each work, provide information on the art and the artists, supplemented by images introducing creative process. Please enjoy an innovative art tour using the terminal mounted with all kinds of cutting-edge functions.
The word “Ubiquitous” originating from the Latin word meaning “existing or being present everywhere,” refers to an environment where, through computers installed in every location and on every product, customers can be provided with optimal information and services depending upon their needs without noticing the presence of the computes.
Fees
¥1,000 (¥500 for a rental fee and ¥500 for a deposit*)
*It is a reimbursable deposit and paid back when a terminal is returned. For a deposit, we accept only cash, and no payments by credit cards are accepted. *Please show your ID card(s) (driver’s license, passport, health insurance card or student identification card) when renting a terminal (“Ubiquitous Communicator”). A guest without ID card(s) may not be able to rent a terminal.

*Guests can rent a terminal until 18:00 and should be returned to the Tour Counter by 20:00.

In front of artworks, the Ubiquitous Communicator will provide guests with interviews of the artists and images introducing the process of creating the artworks.
