明日を担う若い"ちから"を育てる「Tokyo Midtown Award」今年で７回目を迎える「Tokyo Midtown Award」は、デザインとアートの街・東京ミッドタウンが主催するデザインとアートのコンペティションです。明日を担うデザイナーやアーティストの発掘と応援を目的とし、第一線で活躍するアーティスト、キュレーター、デザイナーを審査員に迎え、学生から一般の方々にまで幅広く門戸を開放しています。基軸テーマは、街のコンセプト「JAPAN VALUE」（新しい日本の価値、感性、才能）。アートコンペでは制作補助金と、東京ミッドタウン内のスペースを作品発表の場として提供しています。デザインコンペではテーマのみを提示し、自由な発想でのデザインを募り、商品化に向けた全面的なサポートを行っています。既にこれまでの7回の実施で計8作品が商品化され、全国各地のセレクトショップなどで高い評価を得て、大きな話題となっています。また、2014年には初となるイベント化も実現しました。受賞者たちは、本アワードをひとつの契機としながら精力的に活動を展開し、日々成長し続けています。東京ミッドタウンはデザインとアートの力が日本の活力の一助となることを願い、「Tokyo Midtown Award」によって未来の才能を応援しています。Tokyo Midtown Award - fostering the talents of the next generationThe Tokyo Midtown Award which marks its seventh year this year, is a design and art competitionorganized by Tokyo Midtown - an area that is filled with design and art works. The competitionaims to discover and support designers and artists of the future, and welcomes a broad range ofapplicants from students to the general public. The judges consist of artists, curators and designersworking at the forefront of their fields.The key theme of the competition is“JAPAN VALUE”- the concept of Tokyo Midtown. Winners ofthe art competition receive money grants to cover production costs and are given the opportunity todisplay their works in an exhibition space at Tokyo Midtown. In the design competition, applicantssubmit freely conceived designs in line with a given theme. The winners receive all-round support tomake their designs into commercial products.In the past seven competitions, a total of eight products have been commercialized and put on salein“select shops”nationwide. Also one event has been held in 2014. They have been well - receivedand have generated much talk.The winners have utilized the opportunities given by the award to further their creative activities andthey are continuing to make advances.
