See 2,000 spectacular sunflowers under a blue sky at Tokyo Midtown. Visitors can capture a photo of summer memories surrounded by sunflowers swaying in the breeze and adorned with ribbons, set against the backdrop of an expansive garden and a clear blue sky.

Sunflowers adorned with ribbons
Yellow and blue ribbons add an extra touch of brilliance to the sunflower field. Together with the sunflowers, the fluttering ribbons add a vibrant accent to the summer scene, delighting all who visit.

If you venture further into the HIMAWARI MID GARDEN, you will find a swing decorated with sunflowers. Here you can take a photo and capture summer memories to keep, just for yourself.

Summer Sky Wind Chimes


Inside Tokyo Midtown, an installation that provides an experience of refreshing coolness in the Japanese-style is waiting to greet visitors. The soothing sound of wind chimes and the swaying of ribbons create a refreshingly cool environment.

Japanese summer scenes reflected in wind chimes
Enjoy the summer sky in Japan and its various moods, from blue skies with cumulonimbus clouds, to pink-hued sunrises and sunsets in which orange and purple blend together, all reflected in the wind chimes.

The refreshing sight of gently swaying ribbons
Feel coolness in summer through the light, rhythmic motion of ribbons fluttering in the breeze as the pleasant wind delivers its refreshment through the ribbons.
Wind Chimes
The wind chimes that embody the beauty of traditional Japanese craftsmanship are specially provided by Nousaku and Tsugaru Vidro. The refined skills of master artisans shine in the beautiful sound of the chimes, bringing a refreshing touch to summer.

Nousaku is known for its 100% tin products crafted using traditional casting techniques from Takaoka City in Toyama Prefecture.
On July 18 (Fri), a new store called NOUSAKU / NS by NOUSAKU will open on the 3rd floor of the Galleria in Tokyo Midtown.
The store is a combined brand store featuring NOUSAKU, known for its 100% tin tableware and brass interior items, and NS by NOUSAKU, a jewelry brand that explores the potential of materials and design using the innovative new material "Tin Gold."

Sustainability Initiatives

The flowers used in the HIMAWARI MID GARDEN are reusable artificial flowers, selected to allow visitors to enjoy the beauty of a summer landscape even amid intense heat. The decorative ribbons used in both HIMAWARI MID GARDEN and the Summer Sky Wind Chimes installation are upcycled dead stock ribbons from the manufacturing and sales process.
Ribbon Supplier: Takaramoto Corporation. Established 76 years ago. This company is a textile trading company that specializes in ribbons, operating under the belief that ribbons weave joy.

"ASHIMIZU" offers a place where you can soak your feet in the stream flowing through Midtown Garden and a cool evening experience in the middle of the city. This year, cool mist will once again allow visitors to enjoy an even cooler feeling, and at night, light effects will provide an experience of the coolness of summer in an enchanting atmosphere.

Ice in the stream keeps you cool from the feet up
At ASHIMIZU, we perform the ice pouring into the stream twice a day. The sparkling ice is cool to the eye, and the cool murmur of the stream eases the summer heat from your feet.

Shade that creates the shade of a tree
The design of the shades is inspired by waterfowl and swallows that visit Midtown Garden, as well as the nearby plants, expressing the fact that a wide variety of animals and plants interact with water.

An enchanting space woven by light and water
ASHIMIZU is illuminated at night, creating an enchanting atmosphere. The soft flickering of light reflected on the water's surface forms a special space that helps visitors forget the hustle and bustle of the city.
Restaurants and cafés within Tokyo Midtown will host a fair entitled Cool Sweets, where visitors can enjoy refreshing desserts that also exude coolness in their appearance.


During the "MIDTOWN SUMMER 2025" period (July 18 (Fri.) to August 31 (Sun.)), restaurants and cafes in the facility will offer a variety of cold sweets that you will want to eat on a hot day. There are a wide variety of cool sweets for both adults and children, including the ever-popular shaved ice and parfaits! Why don't you take a break with refreshing sweets?
Small Fireworks Event at Tokyo Midtown


Once a common summer scene, forming a circle with close friends and family and playing with sparklers is now a nostalgic tradition. Experience this charming summer activity with a small fireworks event right in the heart of the city. Moments spent surrounded by the glow of fireworks with your loved ones will become enduring summer memories.
*Fire is normally strictly prohibited in the Midtown Garden, including the lawn area, and Hinokicho Park.
*During this event, fireworks will only be allowed in designated areas, and the use of sparklers or any open flames outside these zones remains strictly prohibited.

Mission Roppongi Uchimizu

The traditional Japanese custom of uchimizu - splashing gardens and streets with water to cool the environment - will be held again this year on Taisho (the day of great heat)! Together with the local community, we are working to combat the urban heat island effect. The water used for uchimizu will come from Tokyo Midtown's underground reservoirs (rainwater, well water, etc.) and can be poured into plastic bottles brought by participants. Please feel free to come along in your yukata and join in.

During weekend, a range of workshops will be held for children to enjoy. These include workshops in collaboration with artists and others coordinated with establishments at Tokyo Midtown, offering unique opportunities for intellectual learning and fun that can only be experienced at Tokyo Midtown.
