Growing trees in Tokyo Midtown

There are 400 trees planted in Midtown Garden, including about 140 trees passed down from the days of the Japan Defense Agency, and they have been cared for since the garden opened. They are pruned regularly, which cleans up their branches and leaves and makes sure that air and light are distributed evenly, keeping the plants healthy and the trees beautiful.

CRASHIP PARK

CRASHIP PARK - an urban event that lets you experience Japanese craftsmanship with your five senses - comes to Tokyo Midtown! For three days only, specially selected producers and sellers from around Japan will come together at Tokyo Midtown for a tasting of superb products that include green tea, coffee, sake, and wine.
Visitors will also be able to experience the appeal of craftsmanship through workshops, talk sessions, and a market featuring secondhand clothing and vintage items, and enjoy interaction with makers, communicators, and consumers.

KOINOBORI GALLERY

Midtown Garden will be adorned with 101 unique and original koinobori (carp streamers) created by artists and designers from Japan and around the world with the theme of wishing for healthy development of children, adding a range of colors to the lush greenery of Midtown Garden. Swimming amongst the greenery while flapping in the breeze, these colorful carp take on the air of a work of art. This is a special exhibition that visitors can enjoy while surrounded by nature.
The design of the carp streamers is an amalgamation of the talents of a range of individuals, including graphic designers Kazumasa Nagai and Kyu Asaba as well as TOKYO MIDTOWN AWARD design competition judge Tomoe Shinohara. This gallery will enable visitors enjoy the season in an urban setting, so be sure to check it out.

Wellness Activities in a Green Setting

Midtown Garden will host activities with the theme of wellness in a verdant outdoor space. From exercise programs fusing HIIT (interval training) with yoga to meditation sessions for an experience of mindfulness, Midtown Garden will offer visitors a lavish moment to connect with nature while in the heart of the city through content that supports the experience of the mind and body. Don't miss this opportunity for refreshment amidst your busy daily life.

Shuta Hasunuma's Sound Searching Workshop

The freshly green garden will host a workshop you experience with your ears. Participants will use a recorder to make field recordings of environmental sounds in Midtown Garden. They will then present the sounds they have recorded to turn peoples' attention to the sounds of greenery and nature they don't usually notice in an urban environment. Furthermore, Shuta Hasunuma will take the audio recorded by participants and edit into an original sound source that will be subsequently handed back to participants. Take this chance to enjoy a special experience that brings new sonic discoveries in a familiar environment.
